Following in Warchiefs footprints, I and a friend of mine have decided to attend the Warhammer Doubles tournament at Warhammer World in May 2013, this involves us both writing a 100pt list which will be used to play 5 games over the weekend. I have decided to take my WoC on the road, including some new toys;
Chaos Sorcerer, Dispel Scroll, Spell Familiar, +1lvl- 160pts
20 Marauders, FC, MoK, Flails- 150pts
21 Chaos Warriors (7×3), Halberds, FC, MoK, Blasted Standard- 436pts
3 Skullcrushers, Standard, Ranger Standard- 250pts
I will probably run the sorcerer with Fire as I’ve lost count of the number of Hydra’s, Abominations and Treekin I’ve bumped into over the years in small lists and with the spell familiar should be able to get Sword of Rhuin to bolster the units against them…
What’s your mate taking?
Dude isn’t that two arcane items on your sorcerer? (More 8th ed practice required! Can’t take scroll as a duplicate any more – damn dwarf players!)
What’s the thinking behind the ranger standard? For 50 points I think there are better options. +1 movement, armour piercing, +1 leadership for example…
Also be aware of the timescale for the new book release – any list written now may be null and void by May next year…
Oops, oversight on my part on the sorcerers equipment, probably swap the scroll for Golden eye of Tzeentch. Isee your point about the standard, it was on in case they fail frenzy test and got pulled across terrain, standard of discipline @15pts will do similar job I think. I was also thinking of putting GW on marauders for the extra kill factor. With the extra points freed up I may be tempted to put Third Eye on the sorcerer for the extra spell selection.
Until a release date is confimed for the new WoC I will persevere with this list (even released in April I can’t use it in May).
My partner will be running a Skaven horde army.
Have you booked your tickets yet? I might see if I can make it too
tickets go on sale 6th Feb…
