Think Green

26 10 2008

After having a long break from painting and war gaming I thought it was time for a change from the dwarfs. And with all the talk of climate change I thought I should do my bit to help out and go green. So with that in mind I got to work and planned out a green army, well, green skinned army to be more accurate. So at the moment I’ve got about 140 models to paint for my new orc horde, which consists of 4 huge units of orcs, along with chariots, boar boyz and a giant to add a bit of extra muscle. I have to admit that I’ve done very little painting for this army as I am currently lacking the inspiration and motivation to paint them but I have managed to paint an orc shaman, a black orc war boss, a chariot and about 10 black orcs.

I then recently heard in the news that petrol prices were beginning to drop so I thought I would take advantage of this and start a Speed Freaks army for 40k. So, I am now in the process of building up bikers and quad bike for my warboss while I put the finishing touches on my 1500pt army list. So far I’ve gone for bikes, boyz and of course their ever so trusty vehicles for the boyz to ride in. So for the next few months I am going to be bogged down painting even more green skin, while building so funky vehicles.

My main problem is going to be finding a fast and effective way of painting the skin, as the models I’ve painted for my fantasy orc horde have had up to seven different shades of green, which to be fair has worked out nicely but it has taken quite a bit of time to do, along with quite a bit of my depleting level of sanity.

When the weather brightens up a bit I will try and take some photos of what I’ve painted or built so far to serve as evidence that I am still alive, and more importantly, to prove that I am still building and painting an army.
