Well I struggled towards the end but here are my painted figs. I painted a combat squad of Space Marines, and im happy with how they came out. So happy in fact that I proceeded to order the Assault on Black Reach box set, and ill be putting them together throughout September ready for the following month.
I also got off my butt and finished the second half of a Chaos Warrior unit that I had started originally last March.
For next months painting target Ill be staying away from the ole Chaos until the new army book is released so ill be concentrating on getting some more Hordes units done and either more Space Marines or a Wild West gang. Ive been managing to get some games in recently, and ive come to realise that im out of practise so fingers crossed ill play some more and if I remember ill take some pics too.
later dudz
Waiting for November

Can’t see the Wood (Elves) for Trees…
30 08 2008With all this hive of activity, what have I been up to you may ask? (Well, specifically, Kahuna…)
Wood Elves! Mostly assembling them, much as I like the plastics, they are fiddly little munchkins to assemble… I’m concentrating on getting 1500 points planned and painted – September will hopefully be the month for this, but time is once again getting scarce so I shall be under no illusions that Wood Elves will be on the painting bench for the next year!
I managed to play some games against Clee’s Orcs and (an obligatory fanatic totting unit of) Goblins and have been impressed with the fey eco-terrorists, but less impressed with my inability to correctly divine distances. Hmm. A course on guessmanship is on the way methinks…
First project before the painting is the traditional Wood Elf movable wood – guaranteed to irritate opponents everywhere… I’ve picked up some Woodland Scenics Fall Foliage and some wire… Time to put Alan Titchmarsh to shame!

August Update from the Wox
24 08 2008Kahuna has badgered me to keep my updates punctual so here is a brief look at the little painting I have managed in the last month or so. Much of my available time has been spent collecting and basing a veritable horde of Lord of the Rings figures for the Fields of Glory rules, the trial game proved the concept and it definitely is a work in progress. I’ve also installed a 8 ft x 6 ft gaming table in my garage – so let the epic games commence!! Gaming has taken off, with regular Flames of War and Warmachine games taking primacy. So the evidence is as follows:
Warmachine Cygnar Gun Mages
Ork Mob and Boss and Heavy Weapons
Plans for the next few weeks are to paint some more Orks and then get hold of the new 40K box set – so even more orks……and some more ACW infantry. Enjoy.

Better Late Than Never
21 08 2008Well after a year of pretty much no painting and only a couple of games, i make my return with the 3k BFG Tau fleet thats been sitting in my wardrobe. Below is the first ship of many to come. I’ll be experimenting with edging a bit more, as this is my first attempt, and try a brighter shade of colour for the next ship, but this is the basic colour scheme.
The fleet itself contains the following;
3 Explorers, 4 Heroes, 4 Merchants, 18 Defenders, 18 Orcas and 3 Messengers.
Also kicking around is an army of Wood Elves, but im still in two minds as to keeping or selling them at the moment.
