Time for plan B

After a relatively unsuccessful week of gaming in March I realised that, apart from my deployment, my main problem with my army was my characters. There were a lot of points spent on runic items which either never got used or were useless due to the combinations of runes on each character. After deciding to go along with Kahuna to the Spikey Club’s tournament in Reading I thought I would write a new army list and have a practice game. After coming out of the game against the Vampire Counts with most of my army in tact and most of the Undead laid to rest… again, I noticed that although my army was now more balanced, my dwarf lord could not lead by example by slaying any foe that stood in his path. After being challenged by a vampire I realised that my lord could just about repel the blows of the vampire, due to his high armour and respectable ward saves, he could still not fight back as he struggled to hit and failed to wound with his great weapon. This led me to start up a conversation down the pub one Tuesday. It started by me asking, “How would you kit out a dwarf lord? Especially for a tournament?” A simple question I thought, well until a pen a paper came out and people’s answers were written down and compared. It was at this point that I thought it would be a good idea to write about it and open up the discussion to whoever uses this blog site. So for the rest of you who haven’t yet been asked, “How would you kit out a dwarf lord?” Please feel free to come up with your ideas and discuss them with the rest of us maybe together we can come up with the best dwarf lord to lead a throng against any and all enemies.

And in March there was WAR!!!!

Wow that week in March never seems to last long enough… I had a good gaming week winning several of my games, but I still cannot beat Chris’s Wood Elves mutter mutter… Pictures of the week will follow within the next couple of weeks just as soon as i get some new editing software.

So what’s the plan now? I hear you ask..

Now that the year is up we will be updating  the site so that everyone can post whether they are going to wales again next year or not.  Ive been inspired by the week away to enter a warhammer tournament held by the good lads of the Spikey Club over in Reading, along with a couple of the other lads.

Ill be taking my Tzeentch with a few amendments, (bloody Dragon Ogres), newly painted figures will of course be added to this site.  I plan to take my camera with me and if i can find the time ill take some pictures of the event.

Throughout the year ill adding to my Chaos army in preparation of the forthcoming new Chaos books due out soon.  Other painting projects will include painting a LOTR force and along with a few other lads getting all the figures needed for Warhammer Quest done, and if I can find the time my dwarf army needs the attention of my paint brush too….

All in all a busy year ahead planned, it was great to spend some time away with the lads and it was even better to see us all using painted miniatures, this may be the future…..

Warhammer sucks!!

Right after a week of gaming, or some.. ok most would say losing, I’ve come to the conclusion that Warhammer is shit, my teddy has been doing its superman impression for the last week as its still in orbit I threw it that hard.

OK so it was a good week away, even though i did get my arse handed to me, It must be the Khorne tattoo’s interfering with any other army I use. So back to the Khorne Horde it it! … ohh and finishing my slayers and undead guys too. But my Lord Khorne shall have his fill of blood in August. one way or the other.

If you were wondering why I was chopping up so much wood, its all good practice!

and now all I have to do is paint up a bunch of stuff for Flames of War. roll on 18 months time, or whenever it is!
